Thermal Warm-edge duct

Glass panes with Thermal Warm-edge duct

The space or perimeter joint of the double-glazing unit is subject to the dispersion of heat in this zone and the formation of condensation also occurs, due to frequent thermal bridges that are created. Alternatively to aluminium, it is usually used for the coupling, and recently different materials have been introduced, such as steel and plastic derivatives, whose thermal conductivity is much lower than that of aluminium. The so-called “hot joint or warm-edge” thus obtained halved heat loss from the perimeter of the glazing, significantly increasing the surface temperature of the slabs and therefore significantly reducing the condensation: all this for the benefit of the overall Uw value of the window.
